Proven will ensure you have the correct size to keep your home comfortable and that your unit is installed completely to manufacturer’s specifications, so you can be confident that it provides maximum output and energy efficiency.
The service continues beyond the installation. We’re also on hand to show you how to operate your new system and answer any questions you may have.

What the free airflow upgrade does
Poor subfloor ventilation traps moisture, invites mould, and makes your whole system work harder than it should. An upgrade to the next tier moves more air through the space, cutting damp and easing the load on your unit. We normally charge for the upgrade. This spring, it’s free with any subfloor ventilation quote.* If your subfloor’s never had proper airflow, it’s an easy yes.

Frequently asked questions
The cheapest way to install air conditioning can vary based on your specific needs and local conditions. A good rule of thumb to remember is do it right the first time, to avoid paying twice. Opting for a split system may be more cost effective for small spaces. It’s essential to consult with a licensed professional to ensure proper sizing and installation, which can save money in the long run by increasing efficiency and reducing potential repair costs.
A 2.5KW air conditioner can generally cool a room of up to approximately 20 square metres. However, various factors such as ceiling height, insulation, sunlight exposure, and local climate conditions (especially in Sydney) can affect this estimate. A professional assessment can provide the most accurate recommendation for your particular situation.
While minor installations may not require planning permission, certain situations such as installing in a heritage-listed property, commercial premises, or when modifying the external appearance of a building may require approval from the local council in Sydney.
As a guide:
- Residential strata run properties: In most cases a renovation form is needed to be completed, this would be evident in your by-laws.
- Commercial properties: Less likely than residential strata, however a conversation with a building manager will resolve your concerns quickly.
- Residential houses: Local councils are unlikely to require approval with most air conditioning installations if certain criteria are met, such as below a height of 1.8M.
It is important to check with your local Sydney council for accurate information on air conditioning approvals, a good start for further information is via a NSW government document found here: https://www.planning.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2023-02/air-conditioning-units-rules-for-exempt-development.pdf
Many types of air conditioning units, such as split systems and ducted system installations, can require access through the outside wall for the connection to the outdoor unit. However, the outdoor unit can be installed on the ground level, elevated by supports or various other locations.
A professionals approach can locate these outdoor units even up to 25m + away from the indoor unit, allowing you flexibility with the location of the outdoor air conditioning unit.
